FLORIDA COOS Caucus 2:

The Second Meeting of the Florida COOS Caucus (FCC) was convened August 2, 2005 based upon a schedule set at the initial FCC
meeting. The meeting was organized / co-convened by Otis Brown, Dean of the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine
& Atmospheric Science, Richard Dodge, Dean of the Nova Southeastern University's Oceanographic Center, Peter Betzer, Dean of
the University of South Florida's College of Marine Science, and Tom Gustafson of NSU Institute of Goernment and Public Policy
in order to provide a continuing venue for discussions between members of the academic and research community, governmental and
regulatory officials, and the private sector provider and user groups regarding emerging efforts to develop coastal ocean
observing systems. The meeting was set in early August to take advantage of the results and information from meetings of
SEACOOS and SECORRA held in late July in Jacksonville, FL.
