Oceanographic Center Distance Education Registration Instructions |
| To register to audit a course (general interest) or for undergraduate credit | To register for graduate credit | To register for the online MS in Coastal Zone Management |
| Please make sure that we have your completed registration form and payment details form. |
Please make sure that we have your completed registration form, payment details form, and a copy of your undergraduate
degree.
If you are registering for the 4-course Graduate Certificate in Coastal Studies, please indicate this on the admissions form. |
Please follow the procedures outlined "to register for graduate credit", but also make sure to get in touch with "Ms. Melissa Dore" <missy barney nova fred edu> so that she can contact you about the full graduate study requirements. |
Before you can register for a distance education course, you need to be admitted as a Nova Southeastern University student.
Once you are admitted "into the system", you can register for and pay for your courses directly, by using a computer program
called WebStar which you will be able to access. If this is your first term with us, and time is tight, we can get you started
by registering you for your courses but in future terms, you will do this yourself via WebStar.
What we need to know right now is basic information about how to get in touch with you, the course(s) you wish to take in the
upcoming term, which level you wish to take courses (e.g. audit, undergraduate or graduate credit), and payment information to
cover the $50 admission fee. We have ready-made forms for you to fill out (see below). You can get this information to us by
"snail mail", fax, or as an email attachment.
To register by fax or regular mail, please use this
downloadable Distance Education Registration Form which you can download to
your hard drive, complete and send to us. If you are registering for a course at the graduate credit level, you
will need to send us a copy of your undergraduate degree. If you are planning to do this by fax or regular mail,
then this is the form you need to complete.
You may also register directly by email. If you are applying for
full graduate credit you will need to get a copy of your undergraduate degree to us by separate cover, or you
could scan it in and and send it as an email attachment along with your registration form.
We also need payment details for the initial $50 admission fee. (Please note that this is
not the total course cost.) For security reasons, you may send this as an email
attachment in a direct email to "Melissa Dore" <missy barney nova fred edu>,
cc'ed to "Jane Dougan" <douganj barney nova fred edu>. You may also download this
form and send it by regular mail along with your registration.
By email, send admission information and payment details as an attachment to:
"Melissa Dore" <missy barney nova fred edu> or
"Jane Dougan" <douganj barney nova fred edu>
By fax, please fax admission information and a copy of your undergraduate degree to:
FAX: 954-262-4098
By regular mail, please send admission information, a copy of your undergraduate degree and payment details to:
Distance Learning Admissions
Once you are accepted into the distance education program, you are assigned a nine-character NSU ID number. You are also mailed
a PIN number to access WebStar. You are then able to use WebSTAR to register for your courses online, view your financial aid
information, view and print unofficial transcripts and pay for courses with a credit card.
Once you are accepted into the program, you will also need to get an NSU Email ID so that you can access your online courses.
This provides you with access to an NSU email account, as well as a wide range of distance library services. If you have a US
SSN, you can request your NSU email ID yourself directly from
https://www.nova.edu/sbin/account_request
If you don't have a US SSN, you can request that an NSU Email account be set up for
you by emailing "Melissa Dore" <missy barney nova fred edu>.
