Oceanographic Center receives $5000 from Miami Billfish Tournament

The Oceanographic Center’s Guy Harvey Research Institute (GHRI) recently received a $5,000 donation from Yahama Contender Miami Billfish Tournament (YCMBT) to assist the GHRI’s shark and billfish research.

GHRI researcher Jennifer Magnussen also received a $1,000 scholarship from the tournament to support her research. Guy Harvey served as the official artist of the YCMBT, creating an original painting to be used as the tournament artwork.

The Yamaha Contender Miami Billfish Tournament is a non-profit fishing tournament, whose proceeds benefit marine conservation and enhancement programs. The YCMBT celebrated its 25th anniversary this year!
