Fulfill A Dream

The flexible way to a degree that counts

“…You are more than just a number at NSU…” - NSU Alumni (2006 Alumni Dinner)
At NSU, we offer:

Schedule flexibility

At NSU, we value your professional and personal time and respect your need for flexible scheduling options.
“…I have two jobs and it was really a matter of dedicating myself and managing my time effectively. I knew what was expected of me at NSU, and it was a matter of buckling down and getting everything accomplished in a set amount of time. But also, there are professors at NSU that were very accommodating and were willing to extend the time for an assignment if you were in a bind…” - NSU Alumni (2006 Alumni Dinner)

Numerous ways to deliver your education at home, at work or in the classroom

NSU is a leader among nursing schools nationwide offering online, on campus, and combination nursing programs. Students can obtain a BSN in several ways. Registered nurses with an associate degree or diploma may obtain a BSN through our online track or through the combination on site and online track offered at both the Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers/Naples campuses. For the student without a registered nursing license, the entry level track is a course of study leading to the BSN and preparation for the student to sit for the RN licensure examination (NCLEX-RN). After admission to the program the student may complete in approximately 27 months. Thirty specific general education semester hours are required prior to making application. This is a full-time on site program offered at our Fort Lauderdale campus. “…It is more convenient, because you get to come in once a week. We work and have families…” - NSU Alumni (2006 Alumni Dinner)

Painless transference and acceptance procedures

At NSU, our curriculum is planned to give maximum transfer credit to the practicing RN. Registered nurses receive 61 prior learning credits for their licensure. Other than a current RN license, no pre-requisites are required for the RN to BSN program. Upon evaluation of transcripts, additional transfer semester hour credits for general education courses completed at a college or university may be awarded. This track may be completed in 18 months, depending on the number of semester hours the student chooses to complete each term.
“…NSU gave credit from overseas experience. It was a very smooth experience transferring credits from another school and there was no test that I had to take that proved I knew how to be a nurse…” - NSU Alumni (2006 Alumni Dinner)
