D.N.P. graduates are required to complete 1,000 practice hours post-Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Hours from the M.S.N. credited toward these practice hours must be verified by the university where the student completed the M.S. N. See admissions requirements for instructions on documentation of practice hours.
*Students may focus on a direct care role or an aggregate/systems/organizational focus such as informatics, nursing administration, and community health. Students may be required to complete additional courses in order to demonstrate advanced competencies in direct practice and the guidance and coaching of individuals and families or in organizational, systems, or community assessment techniques. Students may also be required to complete additional practicum hours in order to meet the 1,000-hour requirement. Students will work with an adviser to plan their individual program of study.
