Dan
Abrams anchors The Abrams Report on MSNBC TV. He also covers
legal stories for NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, Today and Dateline
NBC.
Dan Abrams joined NBC News as a general assignment correspondent based
in New York in 1997. A former Court TV reporter and anchor, Abrams
has continued his legal reporting at NBC News. He has covered a number
of high-profile trials, including the Bush v. Gore post-election legal
battles, President Clinton’s impeachment trial, the Oklahoma
City Bombing Trials and Appeals, Susan McDougal’s trial, the
Jon Benet Ramsey Investigation and the Elian Gonzales legal battles.
Prior to joining NBC News, Abrams served as an anchor and reporter
for Court TV since 1992. During his tenure, he covered the O.J. Simpson
murder trial from Los Angeles, the Timothy McVeigh trial from Denver,
the International War Crimes trial from The Hague, Netherlands, and
the assisted-suicide trails of Dr. Jack Kevorkian from Detroit and
Pontiac, Michigan.
In addition to his reporting duties, Abrams was a daytime anchor for
Court TV and anchored the weekly program Teen Court TV. Abrams
served as an NBC News consultant reporting on the O.J. Simpson murder
and civil trials with regular appearances on NBC Nightly News, Today and Dateline
NBC since 1995.
An accomplished writer, Abrams has published articles in The New
York Times, The Nation, USA Today, The American Lawyer,
George and the Yale Law and Policy Review.
A 1988 cum laude graduate of Duke University in Durham, N.C., Abrams
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He received
his law degree from Columbia University in 1992.
