Internet Browser Settings

In order to use many of the electronic resources, including most online databases available through the NSU Libraries, your Internet browser must be set to do the following:

Instructions for Modifying Internet Browser Settings

Follow the instructions provided below to modify the settings for your browser:

AOL, MSN or CompuServe | Netscape Navigator 7
Internet Explorer 5 | Internet Explorer 6

If you do not know the name and version number of your browser, open your Internet browser, click on the Help menu , and select About ... (ie: About Netscape, About Internet Explorer). A window will open providing the name of the browser and the version number.

AOL, MSN or CompuServe cobranded browser:

Many versions of the cobranded browsers provided by Internet service providers, such as AOL, MSN and CompuServe, are NOT compatible with the library's electronic resources. You may continue to use AOL, MSN or CompuServe for access, but once you have connected to the Internet, you should minimize the AOL, MSN or CompuServe window and open a full (non-cobranded) version of Netscape Navigator or MS Internet Explorer. Download a compatible browser from our Toolbox, then follow the directions below to set browser.
