Subject Guide: Scholarship Information

The subject guide to scholarship information provides information on resources available from the Alvin Sherman Library, both in the library and online, related to scholarships. The subject guide covers subject headings, reference sources, books, databases, and Web sites.

Those seeking help with funding for higher education should contact the financial-aid office at the college or university they plan to attend. Financial assistance can be obtained directly from the college or university, federal- and state-subsidized loans and grants, work-study programs, and support from local clubs, alumni, or religious groups. Many corporate and private foundations do not distribute directly to individuals. Rather, they award grants for scholarships and fellowships to educational institutions, which in turn distribute the funds through their financial-aid offices. Some companies offer scholarships or tuition-aid programs to their employees or to children of employees.
