The ACS is the principal chemistry society in the United States and one of the most important in the world.  The website provides access to extensive sources of chemical information, especially ACS publications.
Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory (CSTL)
  http://www.cstl.nist.gov/
CSTL of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) develops standards and otherwise safeguards methods used by industry and academia in the use of chemicals and chemical information. The website includes significant collections of chemical data developed as part of CSTL’s work.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  http://www.epa.gov/
The EPA as part of its mandate to protect the environment makes extensive use of chemical information as well as conducting significant research to create such information.
International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry
  http://www.iupac.org
The Union is one of the most important organizations supporting chemical research. It is especially involved in the naming of chemicals, chemical processes, and related matters. The site has information on the organization's current activities and some of its documentation, including reports and supporting journal articles.
Scholarly Societies Project: Chemistry
  http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/society/chemistry_soc.html
