Circulating Books

Circulating books may be checked out by visiting the library. Distance students may also request books via Document Delivery.

Periodicals

Periodicals include journals, magazines, newspapers and other serial publications. Search NovaCat for individual titles and holdings information. Periodicals do not circulate, but may be viewed at the library location listed. NSU distance students may request copies of specific articles via Document Delivery.

Business Plan eBooks (Gale Cengage Learning)
Updated annually, this collection contains complete business plans for hundreds of different types of businesses. A master index is available online from Gale.

NBER Working Papers  (National Bureau of Economic Research)
The NBER is a nonprofit economic research organization with representatives from the leading U.S. research universities and major national economics organizations. This database contains full text NBER working papers covering all aspects of economic research including all working papers since 1975.

GLOBUS & NTDB (Stat-USA)
A service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, includes current and historical trade-related releases, international market research, trade opportunities and country analysis. Key components include U.S. domestic data such as GDP, CPI and international data such as U.S. Import and Export Price Index and United Nations Trade Leads.

SourceOECD  (Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development)
Provides access to all OECD published monographs, annual reports, and periodicals from 1998 to the present in PDF-format searchable full text. Statistical databases can go back to 1960. Key titles are OECD Economic Outlook and Economic Policy Reforms.

CompuStat via WRDS: Wharton Research Data Services
Wharton Research Data Services provides access to historical financial data from CRSP and CompuStat. ComputStat covers over 30,000 companies and includes security prices and trading volume, income statement and balance sheet items.

Hoover’s Company Records (ProQuest)
Hoovers by D&B provides detailed company information on more than 40,000 public and private companies. It also includes industry analyses, company headquarters addresses and contacts, financials summary, top competitors, and key executives information.

Key Business Ratios (D&B)
Provides key business ratios arranged by Standard Industrial Classification(SIC). Access is limited to five simultaneous users.

LexisNexis Academic   Database description
Business section includes SEC stock reports, bankruptcy reports, industry and market news, company profiles for U.S. public and private companies and international company reports.

Livedgar
Includes publicly traded companies’ information with SEC filings in USA from 1967 or SEDAR filings in Canada from 1997, Merger& Acquisition information, agreements, annual reports and other news regarding companies and the individuals involved with them.

NetAdvantage (Standard & Poor's)
Provides full text investor/business information from several S&P’s popular publications: Stock Reports, Industry Surveys, Corporation Records, Register, Stock Reports, Earning Guide, The Outlook and Dividend Record.

Value Line
Provides access to Value Line's leading publications on stocks, mutual funds and convertible securities as well as detailed investment information on companies and industries.

ABI/Inform Complete (ProQuest)
Indexes and abstracts thousands of business publications including full text of Hoovers and Wall Street Journal.

The main collections consist of the following.

ABI/Inform Global   Database description
Indexes 1000 premier worldwide business periodicals providing information on advertising, marketing, economics, human resources, finance, taxation, computers, and more. Key publications include Wall Street Journal (Eastern Edition)(1984 – current), EIU ViewsWire (2003 – current).

ABI/Inform Dateline
Indexes local and regional business news coverage of large corporations, private companies, executive profiles, marketing, finance, and industry news. Key publications from South Florida such as Florida Trend, Smart Business Broward/Palm Beach. Coverage: 1985 to current.

ABI/Inform Trade & Industry
Provides searching of more than 700 publications for trade and industry information. This database contains publications on major industries including finance, insurance, transportation, construction, and many more. Coverage: 1971 – current.

Emerald Management Xtra  (Emerald Group)
Full-text articles from selected Emerald journals covering human resources, marketing, management and business operations. Key titles include European Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Operations & Production Management.

General Business File ASAP  Database description  (Gale Group)
Provides major company performance analysis and industry events and trends.

Business Full Text   Database description  (WilsonWeb)
Provides citations, abstracts and selected full-text articles from business-related periodicals. Key publications include The New York Times, Business Section (1993-current), The Wall Street Journal (1993-current).

Tax Research Network (CCH)
Provides tax code interpretation by legal and accounting experts, and current news related to specific tax and accounting subjects. Coverage: Federal Tax Archives (1978 – current); State Tax Archives (1999- current): International Tax Information (1999 – current).

JSTOR Business Collection offers full text searching of more than 50 journals, many of which were published in the 1950’s. Coverage: 1954 – 2001.
