These online databases serve as indexes to the literature, primarily periodicals. They include citations, abstracts, and sometimes full-text depending on the type of database. Title and Description of Database

Academic OneFile - Gale Cengage Learning

Provides citations and abstracts for articles from over 7400 primarily peer-reviewed journals in science, technology and medicine, as well as the humanities, social sciences, and more. Full text is available for 3300 of the journals. Also includes podcasts and transcripts from NPR, CNN, and the CBC, as well as full text for The New York Times.

Credo Reference

Full text for over 250 reference books covering art, biography, business, conversions, dictionaries, encyclopedias, food, geography, history, language, law, literature, medicine, music, philosophy, psychology, quotations, religion, science, social sciences, and technology.

Daily Life Online - Greenwood Publishing

Combines Daily Life through History, Daily Life Premium, and World Folklore and Folklife databases to provide full text information, maps, images, website links, etc. on folklore, cultures, and customs of peoples around the world from ancient times to the present.

Humanities Full Text- Wilson Web

Citations, abstracts, and selected full-text articles from humanities publications from 1984 to present. For earlier citations, see Humanities and Social Sciences Index Retrospective.

Humanities & Social Sciences Index Retrospective – WilsonWeb

Provides citations for articles in the humanities and social sciences published 1907-1984. For more recent coverage, see Humanities Full Text and Social Sciences Full Text.

Proquest Social Science Journals – ProQuest

Citations, abstracts, and selected full-text articles from humanities publications from 1984 to present. For earlier citations, see Humanities and Social Sciences Index Retrospective.

Web of Science- Thomson (Web of Knowledge)

Provides abstracts, cited references, times cited, and links to full text when available for articles in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities (1975 to present). Tools allow citation tracking, exporting of citations, saved searches, and other personalization. WOS includes Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index which can also be searched separately.
