In this presentation, Dr. Schmitt Lavin will provide an overview of work done by herself, her colleague, Dr. James Doan and students while teaching this subject in an NSU Honors course over the past 15 years. Ms. Abbas will then present highlights from her Honors thesis focusing on the central themes in her family's narrative including the refugee experience.
