STEP 1
Finding Journal Articles About Diversification Strategies

There are several online databases with excellent full-text articles. ABI/Inform, a ProQuest database, contains the most scholarly journal articles. It is also a good place to find new releases about companies and product information. If you need help in how to use this resource, take a look at www.nova.edu/library/dils/lessons/abi

Activity 1

Finding Journal Articles About Diversification Strategies

  1. Go to the Alvin Sherman Library at www.nova.edu/library/main/ and click on the Electronic Resources at the top of the page.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select the "Databases" link and then select the "NSU Patron" link.
  3. Under "Browse by subject", select the "Business" link.

Did you find the resources grouped by tabs more useful than using All Sources?   Yes  No  Not sure

Tips for Finding Out if Articles Are Available Full Text in Another NSU Database

Not all business articles are available full-text online. You can use the NSU Full Text Journal Title Search option to see if the journal is full text in one of the library's other 200 databases. If the journal is not full text in the library's databases:

  • On-Campus Students: You may be able to retrieve your article from the shelves in the Periodical Collection. Search NovaCat, NSU's online library catalog, using the journal title to determine if the journal is available in paper or microform in the library. If the journal is not in the library, you can order the article through our Interlibrary Loan department using the online request forms at www.nova.edu/library/serv/docdel/localrequest.html

Tips for Citing Journal Articles Retrieved from Online Databases

Journal articles that are retrieved full text online need to include a retrieval statement in the citation.

For example:

Tunon, J. (2004). Bibliographic instruction for distance students. Research Strategies, 32(2), 22-45. Retrieved June 1, 2004, from Wilson Web Business Full Text database.

For additional examples of how to format journal articles obtained online from NSU databases and/or other NSU resources, take a look at www.nova.edu/library/dils/lessons/apa
