Finding Company Data

You can find company information on many company Web sites, but this is a hit or miss process. Some may have product information while others may list the officers and company missions and still others provide a link to that year's annual report. You may not get all financial data you need. Additionally, it is very difficult to find financial data on privately owned companies. However, you will want to use some of the NSU databases to find systematic information about companies, particularly private or global companies. Although there are several databases that will provide you with company information (ex. NetAdvantage, LexisNexis Business etc. ) we will use Hoovers Company Record for this exercise.

Activity 2

Fnding Company Data

  1. Go to the Business Resource Library Guide site at http://nova.campusguides.com/dilshsbe.
  2. Go to the second column, scroll down to "Locate Academic Resources" the third box, and click "LexisNexis Academic Business."
  3. When prompted enter your "SharkLink ID" and "SharkLink Password" and then select the Submit button.
  4. Locate the heading Companies, to the left of the page. Click "Company Dossier."
  5. In the "Company Name" search box, type in "Pepsico, Inc." then select the Search button. Click Pepsico, Inc.
  6. The database will open up the company "Snapshot" record.
  7. Input the data in the form below:
