The purpose of the Innovation Zone (IZone) is to provide support for online course development and the creation of multimedia learning tools, as well as to enhance Nova Southeastern University’s competitive technology advantage by offering continuous and effective training opportunities for faculty and staff.
The philosophy of the IZone is faculty-centered. The department uses a service/team approach to assist faculty in creating Web-based courses by developing, designing and promoting the use of a variety of technologies in the online academic setting.
The IZone is a department of the Office of Innovation and Information Technology, which operates under the following organizational structure:

Operating under the direction of the Vice President/CIO, Tom West, the Office of Innovation and Information Technology is is comprised of five major units with multiple technology departments within each unit; as follows: Educational Technologies & Digital Media Production, Information Technology Systems and Services, Project Management Office, Information Security Office, and Development and Software Solutions Office.
