Michael Halberthal, M.D.

Michael Halberthal

Dr. Michael Halberthal did his medical training in Haifa, Israel and since then he work at Rambam Medical Center (RMC). Dr. Halberthal runs the Cardiac Pediatric Critical Care Unit and works as senior staff in the PCCU. He did his training in RMC (Pediatric & ICU), London Brompton Hospital (Cardiac PCCU) and Toronto HSC (PCCU). He teached medical students in the Technion medical faculty and have an academic post.

Dr. Halberthal's primary interests include:

  • Peri-operative treatment of children with congenital heart disease;
  • Trauma – Pre-hospital and hospital care

As a medical student, Dr. Halberthal worked as a paramedic in a mobile ICU. For the last 31 years, he has belonged and is active in the I.A.F. Air Search & Rescue Unit as a MD wing commander (reserve). His role in mass casualty scenario in RMC is chief of triage of the entire hospital and he belong to the trauma comity of the hospital; and water and salt balance & fluid management of children.
