Windows XP FTP
  1. Double-click on the My Network Places icon on your desktop.



  2. Click Add a network place.



  3. Click Next.



  4. Select Choose another network location, then click Next.



  5. Enter the FTP address for your program then click Next. The FTP address is based on your area of study at NSU. Please refer to the list below:

    Undergraduate students ONLY
    ftp://polaris.nova.edu

    Graduate Education ONLY
    ftp://fgse.nova.edu

    Graduate Computer Science ONLY
    ftp://scis.nova.edu

    Oceanography ONLY
    ftp://ocean.nova.edu

    Graduate Business ONLY
    ftp://sbe.nova.edu

    Health Professions ONLY
    ftp://hpd.nova.edu

    Law ONLY
    ftp://law.nova.edu

    Graduate Humanities and Social Sciences ONLY
    ftp://shss.nova.edu

    Graduate Psychology ONLY
    ftp://cps.nova.edu

    Administrative Staff ONLY
    ftp://nsu.nova.edu

    Please note: if you use an FTP address for a program that you are not registered for, you will get an error and you will not be able to log in.



  6. Take the check out of Log on anonymously and enter your NSU email name (everything before the "@nova.edu" in your NSU email address.

  7. Click Next.



  8. Enter a name for the connection. You can leave it as the default, as shown above.



  9. Click Finish.

  10. At this point, if you are connected to the internet it will connect automatically. If not, once you connect to your internet service you can open up My Network Places window and double click on the icon you set up. You will see the following:



  11. The following is an example of what you will see. You can drag and drop your files from your computer to this window.

    Please note: if you are publishing a web page, you will need to drag and drop your picture files as well as your web pages.
