Windows 2000 and Windows ME are both equipped with an FTP program. Follow the instructions below to set this up.
- Double-click on My Network Places on the desktop.
- Double-click on Add Network Place. Enter the ftp address you are trying to connect to.
Note: the FTP address would be ftp://machine.nova.edu - for example, SCIS students would use ftp://scis.nova.edu; FSEHS students would use ftp://fgse.nova.edu.
- Click on Next. Take the check out of Log on anonymously and enter your NSU email name next to User name:.
- Click on Next. Enter a name for the connection (for example: NSU, Webpage, etc.)
- Click on Finish. The program will automatically try to connect. You will see the following window.
- Enter your password and click on Login.
From here, you will be able to drag and drop your files from your computer to your NSU account.
If you are creating a web page for the first time, be sure to create a folder called public_html for all your web pages and pictures. To do so, right-click on the empty area in the right frame, go to New and select Folder . Be sure to name the folder public_html so they may be viewed on the web.
