SharkLink is NSU's online portal. With a single username and password, students, employees, and alumni can easily access many online university applications including NSU email, Web calendars, online groups, WebSTAR, and WebCT.

Enabling JavaScript for SharkMail

In order to use email and other SharkMail features, you will need to enable JavaScript on your web browser.

If JavaScript is enabled and you're still getting a JavaScript error, make sure your security addons (especially script-blocking addons) and programs are allowing content from:,,, You may also wish to check your browser preferences to make sure pop-ups are enabled, as many Microsoft-based features utilize pop-ups. If you are still unable to load your email or pages after verifying that JavaScript and pop-ups are enabled and checking your security settings, then please contact the NSU Help Desk for further assistance.

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Click the Security tab
  4. Click the Custom Level button
  5. Scroll down until you see the 'Scripting' section. Select the 'Enable' radio button for 'Active Scripting'
  6. Click the OK button
  7. If you see a confirmation window, click the Yes button

  • Select Options (Preferences on Mac and Linux; Settings on a Chromebook)
  • Click the Under the Hood tab
  • Click Content settings in the "Privacy" section
  • In the JavaScript section, the radio button should be set to "Allow all sites to run JavaScript"
  • If you wish to allow JavaScript only for SharkMail services, set JavaScript to Do not allow any site to run JavaScript and then click Manage Exceptions. Here, you can enter hostnames and IP addresses, as well as specific domain masks for JavaScript to run. Make sure to include Outlook Live, Windows Live and Nova Southeastern University in your exceptions list as the very minimum

  • On the Tools menu, click Preferences
  • Click Content in the Preferences list. (Fig. 1)
  • Check the box next to Enable JavaScript
  • Click the JavaScript Options button to open the JavaScript Options box (Fig. 2)
  • Check the boxes that you want to allow
  • Click OK
  • Click OK

  • Select Support JavaScript
  • Select Allow JavaScript popups
  • Press the Menu key
  • Click Save Options
