Cisco Systems VPN Client 4.9 for
Mac OS X
Installation
Instructions:
1. Click here
to download the VPN client.
You should find this file on your Desktop as below:
2. Double-click this vpnclient-mac-4.9.01.dmg file, and it will appear
on your desktop, as shown below.
3. Double-click this CiscoVPNClient image and you will see the
following window containing the installation package file, called
Cisco VPN Client.mpkg.
4. Double-click this installation package file to begin the installer. You will see the following:
5. Click Continue, and a Software License Agreement will appear.
6. Click Continue again, and click Agree.
7. You will be asked to select a destination drive on which to install the client.
8. Select your Macintosh HD, and you will see that the client requires 20.7MB of free space, along with a confirmation of the drive you selected.
9. Click Continue to complete the preliminary process.
10. Click Install to begin the actual installation. You may be prompted for the username and password that you use to log onto your Mac. Type these and click OK.
11. The client will take a moment to install; stand by.
12. When the installation has completed,
you will see the following confirmation. Click Close.
Usage Instructions:
1. Open the Finder in the Dock at the bottom of your OS X Desktop. Use it to navigate to your Macintosh HD, and then open the Applications folder.
2. In the Applications folder, you will see the VPNClient, as shown below. Open this to begin using it.
3. On opening the VPNClient, you will see the following window. Before connecting for the first time, you must click Import to import the NSU configuration profile.
4. A Finder window will appear, with which
you can navigate to the vpnclient-OSX-4.7
image, to a Profiles folder wherein nsu.pcf can be found. This is the configuration
profile, so select it.
5. You will see the details of nsu.pcf, at which point click Open to initiate the profile's importation.
6. You will see the following confirmation window upon successful importation. Click OK.
7. You will now and henceforth see the nsu profile listed as below:
8. All you need to do now is click Connect. The client displays its status in the status bar at the bottom left, as seen below.
9. Once connected, you can immediately
begin utilizing the intended resource requiring the VPN connection.
