PPP Configuration Steps
- To begin, from the desktop press the
button, then choose Programs, Accessories and finally, Dial Up Networking.
- This will bring up the following screen. Press the button marked New

- After pressing New you will get the New Phonebook Entry Wizard, shown below. Type in whatever name you choose to identify this configuration, place the name in the long white box as shown below. After entering the name of the configuration, press the Next button.

- After pressing Next, you will get the Server screen shown below. Make sure to put a check in the top 2 boxes as shown below. When finished press the Next button.

- After pressing Next, you will get the Phone Number screen, shown below. Type in the phone number, 452-3300, as shown below, then press the Next button.

- You are now finished with the first portion of the setup, press the Finish button.
- You will now see the following screen on your desktop. Verify the configuration is appropriate, you should have 452-3300 in the middle box as shown, the other text shown on this screen may vary, which is OK.

- Press the More button to view a drop-down menu as shown below. Choose Edit Entry And Modem Properties from this menu.

- After choosing Edit entry and modem properties, you will get the following screen. Verify again that you have the phone number, 452-3300 in use. In the field where it says Phone Number, you should have 452-3300 entered. Once this is verified choose the tab at the top labeled Server.

- After choosing Server, you will have a screen similar to the following. Your screen might look a little different in regards to what is selected. You will have to modify your configuration as necessary to make it match what is shown below. The only box that should be checked is the TCP/IP box.

- Press the tab labeled Script to reveal the following box. Check the circle labeled None. When finished press the Security tab at the top.

- After choosing on the Security tab, you will get the following screen. Choose the circle labeled Accept any authentication including clear text. When finished press the OK.

- To begin, from the desktop press the
button, then choose Programs, Accessories and finally, Dial Up Networking. You will get the following screen. You will also get this screen after the initial setup. Press the Dial button to start the connection process.

- You will get a screen similar to following, you will have to enter your e-mail username and password in the appropriate boxes. This will have to be done each time you choose to start the dial up networking connection. After entering the appropriate information press the OK button, you will now connect to NSU.
