Severe Behavior Disorders Program
The Severe Behavior Disorders Program at Nova Southeastern University is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of children and their families by providing services aimed at treating severe behavior disorders in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
Who We Serve
The Severe Behavior Disorders Program serves children ages 3 to 17 who present with challenging behaviors secondary to autism and other developmental disabilities. The behavioral difficulties include aggressive behavior, various disruptive behaviors and self-injurious behavior.
Programs Offered
- Outpatient Care
Our outpatient care services are designed for children whose behavioral difficulties are less severe and may be successfully managed on an outpatient basis, consisting of weekly or twice weekly office-based sessions. Satisfactory outpatient clinical outcomes are typically achieved in 12 to 16 weeks. - Day Treatment
Our day treatment services are designed as a more comprehensive and intense ABA program, that operates six hours per day, five days a week. More severe and long-standing cases may require intensive day treatment where satisfactory outcomes are typically achieved in 12 to 16 weeks.
