What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is operating funds that support the ongoing work and programs of the university. They provide an immediate impact on the college by helping meet the increasing costs of educating students, costs that tuition and other sources of revenue cannot cover. Annual Fund gifts provide unrestricted support each year for all areas of the university. Gifts may be designated to support a specific school, college or center or may be used to support the area of greatest need.
What areas does the Annual Fund support?
Each school, college, or center receiving Annual Fund support can use those gifts wherever the need is greatest. The Annual Fund addresses college priorities and brings immediate benefit to students by supporting scholarships, maintaining the latest technology, and retaining the finest faculty.
What are matching gifts?
Matching Gifts are company-donated contributions that match the contributions made by employees, sometimes on a one-to-one, two-to-one, or even a three-to-one basis. This program enables some donors to increase the impact of their donation to NSU.
If a company participates in this program, it means they are willing to donate a gift to NSU that matches, or equals, an employee's personal contribution without any additional obligation from the individual donors.
Can a gift be designated to a specific area?
Yes, giving money to general funds is encouraged, but a donor might want to designate a gift to something very specific. To accomplish this, in the gift designation section of the form, indicate your specific designation in the "other" box included on the form.
How can I give to the Annual Fund?
Is a gift to the Annual Fund tax deductible?
