Sweta Tewary, Ph.D., MSW
Dr. Tewary serves as the Evidence Based Project Coordinator for the GEC. She is responsible for overall coordination of the Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) project design and implementation, including data collection, analysis, and reporting with focus on Diabetes Mellitus for frail older adults. Dr. Tewary brings extensive experience in program evaluation, instrument development, quality improvement Initiatives, data management, teaching, and clinical practice in the field of Health Care.
Prior to joining the GEC team, she has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Miami Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center(GRECC), Department of Veteran Affairs. She worked as a Co investigator on the project “Care Burden of Persons Enrolled in a Nursing Home Diversion program versus residents in Nursing Home: Development of Metrics and-Preliminary Analysis”. She also assisted the GRECC team in developing systematic methodology to maintain longitudinal dataset of patients who are served by a long term care diversion program at American Eldercare.
Dr. Tewary received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Delhi University and a Master’s in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences in India. Later she obtained a Ph.D. in Social Work from University of South Carolina, Columbia
