Dr. Nicole Patterson is a 2002 graduate of Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN. She completed a Low Vision Rehabilitation Residency at Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Patterson joined the SCO faculty as a clinical instructor in 2003. Her responsibilities were in the Low Vision Rehabilitation, Pediatric and Vision Therapy Services. In 2004 she was appointed SCO's Coordinator of Community Outreach. She is joined the faculty at Nova Southeastern University in 2005 where she serves as Chief of the Low Vision and Geriatric Clinics. In 2008 she became an adjunct faculty member for Florida State University where she teaches courses in the master's in visual disabilities program.
Her current teaching assignments include the Low Vision Rehabilitation Service at the Lighthouse of Broward and in the Geriatric Service at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Patterson also instructs the Low Vision and Pediatric residents at NSU.
Dr. Patterson has presented posters on low vision. She has lectured in the areas of Low Vision, Classroom Learning Strategies for Children with Vision Loss, Down Syndrome and Associated Vision Anomalies, Vision Therapy, and Nutrition and the Eyes.
