The Guy Harvey Outpost is excited to be bringing the 2016 Bonfire Fishing Tournament Series to Florida. We very much hope that you will join us.
The Series foundation is with Dr. Guy Harvey, world-renowned artist, marine biologist, conservationist, fisherman, diver, and adventure traveler. As chairman of Guy Harvey Outpost Resorts, Guy embodies the “Outpost Attitude” and infuses our Bonfire events. The Bonfire Series are first class fishing tournaments for all ages and skill levels, nestled within a festival format, and designed to celebrate and promote conservation and the outdoor lifestyle.
The Bonfire theme provides something that everyone enjoys; a bonfire on the beach composed of bonfire sculptures with a conservation theme and created out of recycled metal by various local artists. Each sculpture is a specific fish species unique to each destination. After the event, they will be placed in the ocean to create an underwater sculpture garden to further promote ocean conservation and awareness.
For the angler enthusiasts we have daily events organized around a tournament with divisions and awards for all skill levels. For non-anglers we have extreme sport demonstrations and competitions including skydiving, kiteboarding, Iron-chef competitions, “trash to treasure” art shows of local artists, and also innovative and creative recycling programs. This coming year the Florida Bonfire Series will feature The Blazing Mako Tournament in Islamorada, Florida, June 16-19th , 2016 and is an event that is sure to embody the Outpost Attitude
As a sponsor of our event, your support funds conservation, research, and education initiatives of the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, a licensed 503C (3) organization. In partnership with the International Game Fish Association and Nova Southeastern University’s Guy Harvey Oceanographic Center, the funds are distributed to Nova Southeastern University’s marine science program for student scholarships to advance conservation and education.
We look forward to discussing the details of available sponsorships and how we can work to provide unique exposure from the Bonfire Series and support vital marine conservation initiatives.
Thank you again for your consideration. We hope you will join us in “Lighting it Up in 2016”.
