Dear Fellow Anglers,

Nova Southeastern University and its Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography (HCNSO) is proud to present the 2017 NSU Scholarship Fishing Tournament.

The Tournament’s Mission is to be recognized as the premier, not-for-profit fishing tournament in the Southeast for the benefit of education and research. Accordingly, conservation is a mandate with release of billfish and responsible take of fun fish.

Net proceeds from Tournament donations create the endowed NSU Fishing Tournament Scholarship Fund. These scholarships attract, retain, encourage, and support high achieving and productive marine students at NSU HCNSO who are engaged in outstanding research.

The fun begins with a Captain’s Meeting and Reception on Thursday evening Nov. 16, 2017 at NSU’s Ocean Campus. The Offshore tournament will be Saturday, Nov. 18 followed by a sumptuous Awards party/reception the same day at the Weigh-in. The Weigh-in and party will be at Lauderdale Yacht Club.

Please visit our website for more information on how to enter and become involved:

Thank you again for your consideration to join in a great event for all ages and skills. I encourage your participation and look forward to seeing you soon.  (As you may have noticed, we have changed the FT location to Ft. Lauderdale due to Hurricane Irma challenges.)

Tight lines,

Dr. Dick Dodge,
