Express Your Thanks to NSU Scholarship Supporters

Your education is powered by the generosity of NSU alumni, donors, and friends who invest in students they believe will shape the future. Taking a moment to thank these benefactors means more than you might think—your words show them the real impact of their gift and inspire them to keep supporting students like you.

Ready to say thank you? If you've received an NSU scholarship, click the link below to write and submit your letter. Not sure where to start? You should thank the donor in your own voice using your own words. What you write should be straightforward, simple, and come from the heart. Here's a basic framework:

Opening paragraph:

Start by thanking the donor and mentioning the name of the scholarship you received. Let them know what it means to you to have been selected and how their support is helping make your education possible. To help keep your privacy safe, avoid mentioning specific details about where you live or have lived.

Note: We don’t provide you with a specific donor name, because quite often scholarship funds have more than one contributor and more than one recipient. We will only send your letter to one donor, so you can write your letter as if speaking right to them.

Second paragraph:

Share what made you decide to come to NSU and what you're studying.

Third paragraph:

Paint a picture of where you're headed—your goals, career aspirations, and dreams after graduation. Consider mentioning how you hope to give back to NSU and support future Sharks as a member of the NSU Alumni Association.

Closing paragraph:

End with one more heartfelt thank you.

Your letter matters. Consider taking this opportunity to connect with someone who believes in your potential. You might just put a smile on their face, and you won’t get a grade on this paper, so remember to speak from the heart!
