Requirements: Applicants must intend to remain in the Chicago metropolitan area after completing school and entering an accredited professional Graduate education program on a full-time basis. Undergraduate applicants must be entering the junior or senior year of an accredited professional education program that will allow them to pursue employment in their chosen helping professions at a Bachelor's degree level. Student must demonstrate a career promise in a helping profession such as: Medicine, Education, Jewish Communal Service, The Rabbinate, Social Service, Performing and Fine Arts, Business, Mathematics and Engineering or other sciences, and Law in the helping sector.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Barnes and Noble Book Scholarship

Foreclosure.com Scholarship Program
Award Amount: 1st Prize $5,000, 2nd – 5th Prize $1,000

Requirements: Student must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited university or college. Student may be a college student or incoming freshman. An article of a minimum of 1,000 words and maximum of 2,500 words that describes your solution to the current foreclosure crisis must be submitted with application.

NSU Bright Futures Scholars Award

Requirements: First time college student graduating from an accredited Florida high school in May 2009. First time enrollee at NSU in fall 2009, full time enrollment in an undergraduate program at NSU’s main campus in Fort Lauderdale. Must apply for and receive Florida Residency Access Grant (FRAG). Must have 3.5 grade point average, 1270 SAT (critical reading and math) or 28 Composite ACT, 75 community service hours, and 15 credits of college preparatory academic courses. Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the NSU State Aid application.

Rotary’s Ambassadorial Scholarship Program

Requirements: Attendance at a minimum of one orientation seminar, if offered in their region. Foundation Trustees make final selection of where scholars are assigned. Each scholar is responsible for applying directly to the assigned institution, gaining admission, obtaining required visas, and making travel arrangements. Scholars must locate funds to cover all expenses outside of those in the scholarship. Contact your local rotary club for your districts specific requirements, deadlines and application.

The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund
Created in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the 911 Education Fund provides scholarship dollars to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled in the attacks.

Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship

Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), and must be interested in becoming Foreign Service Officers in the U.S. Department of State. Must begin their Master's degree program (such as public policy, international affairs, public administration, or academic fields such as business, economics, political science, sociology or foreign languages) in fall 2010. Candidates should demonstrate academic strength in their coursework and participation in activities that highlight leadership potential and involvement in their communities.

U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program
