![]() The D.H.Sc. is a post professional, distance-based academic doctoral program designed for master's prepared clinical health professionals, public health practitioners, and senior-level healthcare administrators. The program was developed by health care educators and clinicians to provide evidence-based knowledge in the health sciences, including the areas of health professions education, epidemiology, global health issues, health policy, clinical professionalism and ethics, and the effective delivery of culturally-competent health care services to populations and individuals in the U.S and internationally. Through professor-driven, student-centered online course delivery, coupled with an internship, practicum, doctoral analysis, and two one-week on-campus institutes, the DHSc program challenges the student to examine the current state of health care, and to consider their role in the provision of services to their patients, clients, and the community at large. Through examination of alternative methods of health care, community diversity, current delivery systems both national and international, health care policy and issues facing practitioners and administrators, the DHSc curriculum is rigorous, enlightening and designed with working health care professionals in mind. |
