Welcome

This site is your link to all the information you will need to learn about the Graduate Scholarship Competition Program and successfully complete the application process.

About the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

The Foundation is a private, independent foundation established in 2000 by the estate of Jack Kent Cooke to help young people of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education. It focuses in particular on individuals with financial need. The Foundation began awarding graduate scholarships in 2001 and a now fund 124 recipients with awards totaling more than $4.2 million annually. The Foundation has received approximately 1, 000 applications for these awards each year.

National Graduate Scholarship Competition

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2008 Graduate Scholarship Program, one of the largest and most competitive scholarship programs in the country. The Graduate Scholarship Program supports exceptional students with financial need who are enrolling in graduate school within five years (since May 2003) of completing an undergraduate degree. Scholars may use the award for full-time attendance at any accredited graduate school in the US or abroad, for any graduate or professional degree. Each award covers a portion of educational costs, including tuition, room and board, required fees and books. The Foundation awards recipients as much as $50,000 annually for up to six years, depending on such factors as total cost of attendance and unmet financial need.

The Foundation will award the graduate scholarships in early summer 2008 for use during the 2008-2009 academic year, and will renew each award in subsequent years based on performance.
