NSU Faculty Advisory Council

The purpose of the Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) is to help further the mission of Nova Southeastern University by advising the administration of NSU about matters for the improvement of university programs and services. The primary goal of the Council is to enhance, protect, and maintain the intellectual integrity of the university through its academic programs. To this end, the Council serves as a forum to recommend new and innovative change; a platform to address academic issues and concerns; and a resource for conceiving, developing, and implementing new projects. A member of the NSU faculty chairs the Council. The Council meets monthly and consists of representatives from each academic center within the institution.

Faculty Club

Chair – Jan Faust

Mission - To establish an affordable faculty club that will meet the needs of the faculty and the university. This will establish a meeting place in support of the university academic community.

Faculty Development

Chair – David Thomas

Mission - To support the educational and professional goals of the university faculty. This includes resources and techniques for teaching, research, and service in support of the university mission.

Scholarship

Chair – Greg Simco

Mission - To provide the university with a review process for potential scholarship applicants. This includes the screening and recommendation process in support of university scholarship.

Symposia

Chair – Morton A. Diamond

Mission - To further the sense of camaraderie, university spirit and cooperative scholarship amongst faculty members. At each conclave, a presentation is made on a subject felt to be of wide interest to those in the academic community.
