NSU’s SharkTube is Here!
You may have noticed the 40” flat screen display monitors that have been mounted in various buildings across campus. Wondering what they are? The displays are part of the SharkTube network.
What is SharkTube?
SharkTube is the new internal communication television network that has been installed in several buildings across NSU’s main campus, and at the Fischler School and the Oceanographic Center. SharkTube is a marketing channel that will be used for communication of NSU events, academic and research achievement, and to recognize outstanding NSU students, student organizations, faculty and alumni.
Where will SharkTube display monitors be located?
SharkTube display monitors are located in the following buildings:
- Horvitz Administration, East entrance
- Shepard Broad Law Center, South entrance
- Maltz, West entrance, north wall by piano
- Oceanographic Center, Forman building, North entrance
- North Miami Beach, Administration, main entrance
- Health Professions Division, Library Lab, East entrance
- Health Professions Division, Dental Clinic, North entrance
- University Center, East and North entrances
- Mailman Hollywood, North entrance
- Parker, West entrance
- Mailman Segal Institute, West entrance
- Alvin Sherman Library, lobby east of Circulation Desk
- Carl DeSantis, North entrance.
SharkTube display monitors will be installed in the Student Educational Centers at a later date.
What type of information will be displayed on SharkTube?
SharkTube will be utilized primarily in three ways:
- The top portion of SharkTube will feature several one-minute video segments which will continuously loop. The entire program will run 10-15 minutes from beginning to end. Video programs will change every one-two weeks and will include:
- Message from the NSU President
- Student or Student Organization Highlight
- Health & Wellness highlight
- Message from the Dean/Chancellor (where applicable for that location)
- Student Affairs segment
- Faculty Highlight
- Athletics Highlight
- Public Safety message/highlight
- Alumni Highlight*
- The bottom portion of the SharkTube screen will display daily events that are being held on NSU’s campus.
- In case of an emergency, SharkTube will be used to communicate urgent messages to the NSU community and campus visitors.
