Take Back the Night

Take Back the Night is January 23, 2006 from 7:30-9PM behind Leo Goodwin Residence Hall. It is sponsored by the Office of Residential Life and Housing, The Division of Student Affairs, and Student Counseling. This event highlights the issues related to sexual assault and domestic violence, serving as a means for the NSU and local community to unite in the fight against acts of sexual assault and domestic violence. Included in the program is a keynote presentation, speak out portion where survivors can share their stories, loved ones can speak of the second hand effects of domestic violence/sexual assault, and the general public can share their thoughts. Following this is a candlelight vigil in honor of those who have been victimized and/or lost their lives due to sexual violence and a march around campus. Various related community groups will be at the event with information tables. This event also highlights the clothesline project, where student groups and individuals have created t-shirts citing their thoughts and views on these topics.
