Admissions Application

Nova Southeastern University requires a completed application to be submitted for all degree and non-degree programs. This provides personal information as well as prior level of education and eligibility for study. If you would like an application or you have registered for classes prior to submitting this form, click on Colleges and Schools to obtain additional information and applications on available programs of study.

Photo IDs

The NSU Card Office provides information on photo ID's and services.

Requesting Official Academic Transcripts

You may request an official transcript through WebSTAR. After entering your NSU ID and PIN, click on: Student, then Student Records, and finally, Request Printed/Official Transcript. This process allows you to request and pay for the transcript on-line. Generally, transcripts will be processed within one (1) business day of receiving your request.

Note: For standard U.S. mail, please allow up to 10 days for delivery. If a student chooses to have a transcript mailed directly to him or herself, also be aware that the student’s name and address will appear as the one it was “Issued to.”

After you have made your request, you can also check on the status of the transcript processing through the online system. If you do not have a PIN, one can be obtained by completing the PIN Request Form.

If you are unable to request the transcript through the online process, you may submit a Transcript Request Form either by fax to (954) 262-4862 or by mail to:

Nova Southeastern University
Enrollment and Student Services
Office of the University Registrar
3301 College Ave.
Fort Lauderdale-Davie, FL 33314-7796

If you encounter any complications with a requested transcript you may email NSU Registrar or call (954) 262-7255 for assistance.

There is a $10 charge per official transcript. For on-line requests, payment is made by credit card. If you are submitting the Transcript Request Form, you must enclose a check with the form or indicate your credit card authorization on the document. There is no cost to an individual who needs an NSU official transcript sent internally to a specific department within NSU. Two examples of this would be for admissions purposes or for OHR use.

If you are requesting more than 10 transcripts you may be interested in our Bulk Rate Transcript Requests.

For overnight Domestic Express delivery, the fee is $19.00, which includes one transcript. Within the same delivery, you may request additional transcripts for a charge of $10.00 per transcript. The overnight service the University uses does not deliver on the weekend, so please consider this when making request.

International Express is available for a charge of $34.00 for one transcript. Within the same delivery, you may request additional transcripts for a charge of $10.00 per transcript. Deliveries may take two or more business days to arrive at its destination, depending upon the country to which it is being delivered.

Additional Transcript Request Types

  1. Miami-Dade County Schools Only: FT-1 Form: If you need an FT-1 Form to be included with your transcript request, you may do so through the on-line process by making the appropriate Transcript and FT-1 choice or by indicating the need for the Form when submitting the PDF Transcript Request document.
  2. Mailman Segal Center for Human Development Certifications: Non-Degree Child Development Associate (CDA) Training and Child Care Provider 10/20/30 Hour Training programs. These transcripts must be obtained by contacting the appropriate staff as identified on the Institute's website.
  3. These transcripts must be obtained by contacting the appropriate staff as identified on the Center's website.

Registration

A universal registration process for all students has been implemented where a student must be prepared to pay tuition at the beginning of the term with one of the approved payment methods. These payment options include check, money order, credit cards, authorized financial aid and third party direct billing plans. Registration through WebSTAR can now be completed for certain programs. Contact your program office for details on web registration dates. If your program does not permit on line registration, click here to down load a registration form (PDF) and either bring it to your program office or fax it to them. You may find their fax numbers on their individual program websites.

Loan Deferments, Enrollment and Degree Verification

To conveniently serve Nova Southeastern University (NSU) students and the business community, NSU has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to act as its agent for providing enrollment and degree verifications.

National Student Clearinghouse

Enrollment Verification

NSU, through its agent the National Student Clearinghouse, provides students with free enrollment verification as proof of actual class attendance. But because registration alone does not guarantee attendance or provide evidence of enrollment, neither NSU nor the Clearinghouse is able to provide current enrollment verification for loan purposes until the actual start date of classes.

Students

You may obtain a free, official Enrollment Verification Certificate by

  1. Logging in to WebSTAR
  2. Clicking on Student Financial Services and Registration
  3. Clicking on Student Records
  4. Clicking on Loan Deferments and Enrollment Verification

This Enrollment Verification Certificate can be presented to health insurance agencies, housing authorities, consumer product companies, banks, and other agencies that require documentation of your current enrollment.

For the Business Community

To better serve the business community (Credit Grantors, Employers, Insurance Companies, etc.), NSU utilizes the National Student Clearinghouse as our agent to provide enrollment and degree information of our student and alumni. Please verify your degree or contact the Clearinghouse at:

National Student Clearinghouse
2300 Dulles Station Boulevard
Suite 300
Herndon, VA 20171
Phone: (703) 742-4200
Fax: (703) 742-4058

Student Loan Deferment & Verification

Students' enrollment for loan deferment purposes is verified to the National Student Clearinghouse on a monthly basis throughout the year. The Clearinghouse automatically updates your status with all of your lenders. You can view what information has been submitted to your lenders by utilizing the Clearinghouse's Loan Locator. This free service shows the history of data that has been submitted on your behalf.

To reach the Loan Locator, log on to SharkLink and scroll down to Student Records. Click on the Loan Deferments & Enrollment Verification link. You will be taken to the Clearinghouse's Student Self-Service Site that is not only a portal to specific information about loans, but also can provide enrollment certificates, your enrollment information on file, any student loan deferment notifications that the Clearinghouse has provided to loan holders, and student loan deferment notifications.

If your lender sends a deferment form to you and insists the form be completed, please sign and mail it directly to the Clearinghouse.

National Student Clearinghouse
13454 Sunrise Valley Drive
Suite 300
Herndon, VA 20171

Should you prefer to submit the form to the One-Stop Shop (on behalf of the Office of the University Registrar), we will gladly forward the document to the Clearinghouse for processing.

Grades

When grades are posted, an email will be generated and sent to student's NSU email account requesting log on to SharkLink.

Once there, you may view your grades from any semester by:

  1. Scrolling down to the Student Records tab
  2. Clicking on Records and Academics
  3. Clicking on Transcripts/Grades
  4. Clicking on My Grades

To protect the student's privacy, grades are not given over the phone.

Diplomas

If there are no holds, diplomas are mailed directly from the Office of the University Registrar to the address entered in WebSTAR at the time you completed the information on the on-line Degree Application Request form.

All degrees are conferred on the last day of the month in which the advisor approves the degree application, but please note that posting degrees may take several weeks due to the fact that they must have the approval of the academic department first. Contact your program office regarding the status of your degree.

Diploma Address

Important: The diploma will be mailed to the address you select when you submit your Degree Application Request form. If there are any changes after the application is submitted, you must update your address on WebSTAR, and then email the Coordinator of Degree Conferrals and Diplomas to request your diploma be mailed to your new address. Updating WebSTAR alone does not automatically update your diploma mailing address. Not providing a correct address will cause a delay in receiving your diploma and could result in an additional fee.

You will receive an email to your NSU email address notifying you when to expect receipt of the diploma. Please allow several weeks from the conferral date to receive delivery of your diploma package.  Also be advised that we cannot ship to a P.O. Box or APO/FPO address. Should you find any discrepancies with your diploma, email us.

Replacement Diplomas

Please complete the Application for Diploma Form (PDF) to submit this request. A $30 payment, per copy, must accompany your request.

For more information about degrees and diplomas, please log on to Online Application for Degree/Diploma.

*Acrobat Reader is needed to view any form that is designated with PDF.
