The Office of Public Affairs (OPA) is your best source for help in promoting
your efforts on behalf of the university. If you haven't done so already,
establish a relationship with this office and work with the staff assigned
to your school, college or center. The OPA staff can do much of the media
outreach legwork for you, but if you choose to make your own contacts
with the media, please secure approval from the OPA before contacting
the media. If you are sending out press releases or information on NSU
letterhead, this communication needs to be cleared through the OPA.
The general mission of the OPA is to promote positive relations between
the university and its many internal and external constituents. The OPA
conducts a variety of public relations activities, communications and
community relations initiatives designed to:
- Strengthen the NSU brand
- Help NSU achieve its goal of being a well-respected institution of
higher education
- Coordinate the university's communications to provide the most effective
and consistent messaging regarding the university’s efforts.
