Alvin Sherman Library Hosts Eighth Annual Faculty Reception & Lincoln Exhibit Opening
Faculty from across NSU recently enjoyed the annual Faculty Reception, including: (L to R) Frank DePiano, Ph.D., Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Andres Malave, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Pharmacy; Robert Oller, D.O., CEO of NSU’s Division of Clinical Operations; Don Rosenblum, Ph.D., Dean of the Farquhar College of Arts and Science; Lydia Acosta, NSU’s Vice President for Information Services and University Librarian; Jerome Chermak, Ed.D., Headmaster of University School of NSU; Karen Grosby, M.Ed., Dean of the Center for Psychological Studies; Athornia Steele, J.D., Dean of the Shepard Broad Law Center; Richard Dodge, Ph.D., Dean of the Oceanographic Center of NSU; and Michael Fields, Ph.D., Dean of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

NSU faculty members recently attended the eighth Annual Faculty Reception and opening of the “Abraham Lincoln: A Man of His Time, A Man for All Times” exhibit at the Alvin Sherman Library.
The Oct. 1 reception was a welcoming event for new and returning faculty members. It included refreshments and door prizes, and provided a great opportunity for faculty from across NSU to meet and mingle with peers.
The program also included remarks by:

  • NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr.
  • University Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Frank DePiano
  • Vice President for Information Services and University Librarian Lydia Acosta
  • Chair of the Faculty Advisory Committee Fran Tetunic

Door prizes were awarded to:

  • Charles L. Zelden, who won 2 Domestic Airline Tickets
  • Edye Groseclose, who won 2 Domestic Airline Tickets
  • Jose V. Lopez, who won an HP Wireless Printer
  • Michael W. Gaffley, who won an HP Wireless Printer
  • Eduardo Armenteros, who won the book The Lincoln Anthology: Great Writers on His Life and Legacy from 1860 to Now
