Jumpstart Your Writing Dream with Novel Writing Month Activities Nov. 7

Aspiring writers are invited to participate in FREE National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) Kickoff Meetings for Teens and Adults at NSU's Alvin Sherman Library.

Each November, the NaNoWriMo organization has a month-long challenge for budding writers to complete a 175 page (50,000 words) novel by midnight on Nov. 30.

NaNoWriMo started the annual challenge to motivate people who have always wanted to write a novel but put it off. The goal is to promote creativity by focusing on writing quantity, not quality to help overcome the dreaded writer's block. NSU events include:

  • "Take the Teen Novel Writing Challenge" Kickoff Meeting for ages 13-17
    Sat. Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
Like to write poems, stories or songs? Want to meet other teens with similar interests? Then don’t miss being a part of the Teen Writing Challenge. The meeting is FREE and open to the public.
