GSCIS Alumnus Elected to the Safeguard Iowa Board of Directors
Francisco Molina Garcia Plaza, Ph.D., an alumnus of NSU's Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences, was elected to the Safeguard Iowa Board of Directors during the organization’s annual meeting in Des Moines, IA on Oct. 6. Molina Garcia Plaza completed his Ph.D. in information science in 2009 with the dissertation "Application of discrete computer simulation modeling to evaluate business continuity plans" under the direction of Professors Easwar Nyshadham, Ph.D. (Chair), James Cannady, Ph.D., and William Hafner, Ph.D. He is currently the Business Resiliency Officer of Transamerica. The Safeguard Iowa Partnership is a voluntary coalition of the state's business and government leaders, who share a commitment to working together to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from catastrophic events in Iowa.
