Economics and Finance Association Hosts Forum on Economy in South Florida

The Economics and Finance Association at NSU's H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, along with the National Association for Business Economics, recently hosted a forum examining the economic outlook for key industries in South Florida. Titled "Economic Outlook for Southeast Florida," the meeting featured presentations on international trade, housing and hospitality industries from local leaders.

NSU students and faculty and members of the local community heard insight from J. Antonio Villamil, Ph.D., dean and research professor at the St. Thomas University School of Business, a member of the President's Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations; Brad Hunter, chief economist and national director of consulting at Metrostudy, Inc.; William Stronge, Ph.D., professor emeritus at Florida Atlantic University and senior fellow in economics at FAU's Cantanese Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions; and William Pettinger, a senior vice president and chief real estate economist for Seacoast National Bank.
