Campus Recreation Fall Programs and Events Ballroom Dancing The next ballroom dancing session runs Nov. 9 through Nov. 30 with an emphasis on Tango dancing! The class will be held in the RecPlex multipurpose room # 2 from 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. To register for the classes, please visit us at the RecPlex or call 954-262-7301. The cost for the class is $40 members of the RecPlex. The cost will be $55 for any non member of the RecPlex. Please contact Mike Prociuk at prociuk@nova.edu for additional information. Master's Swimming Program NSU is now offering a Masters' Swimming group. This is an adult program for those 18 years and older who are looking towards swimming as a way to achieve optimal fitness. Additionally, Masters' Swimming will help condition you for competitive swimming events and competitions in a fun and social setting. Swimmers of all levels are welcome and a specific program will be designed to accommodate everyone's unique needs! Whether you are a lap swimmer looking for a change of pace or a competitive swimmer preparing for a triathlon, Masters' Swimming is for you! The masters' team currently swims as follows:
The cost to participate is $25 per month for students; $45 per month for NSU faculty, staff, alumni, and their immediate family members; $65 per month for community members. Entry Level Scuba Diving Certification Course Fort Lauderdale is an excellent place to learn one of South Florida's signature pastimes; SCUBA DIVING! The beginner course includes equipment and boat rentals. The only things you need to bring are a mask, fins, snorkel, weights, and the willingness to learn.
The next course dates are Oct. 27, 29, Nov. 3, 5, 10, 12, 17 and 19. The certification dives will be held on Nov. 21 and 22 weather permitting. The total cost for the course is only $395.00. Campus Recreation has a staff of certified Personal Trainers available to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the RecPlex, regardless of current level of health and fitness. Personalized fitness training offers the opportunity to have a program designed to meet your specific needs and to help you achieve positive results safely and quickly. To enroll in the personalized fitness training program, you may visit the RecPlex Service Desk during normal business hours to request a Personal Trainer, fill out all paperwork, and purchase your sessions.
