Fischler Administrator Selected as Distinguished Alumna Karen Bowser, Ed.D., a noted administrator and program professor at NSU’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services has been selected as her alma mater’s Distinguished Alumna for 2009. Bowser, a ‘68 graduate of Johnstown (PA) High School was selected because she embodies educational excellence and has spent her professional career developing and delivering innovative educational programming in a variety of corporate, government and academic settings. Currently, Bowser serves as the Dean of Professional Development and Field Services at the Fischler School. Her primary focus is on meeting students’ learning needs through the direction of the Fischler School’s field-based locations throughout the United States, and in developing innovative workshops for a variety of audiences. She has also served NSU students as an Associate Dean of Doctoral Studies, and as a dissertation advisor and program professor in organizational leadership. Her dedication to NSU’s students was recognized recently at the university’s 10th Annual Student Life Achievement Awards, where Bowser was nominated for Executive of the Year and honored as a finalist for her exceptional work.
