NSU Hosts Fifth Annual International Bioinformatics Symposium
NSU hosted the fifth annual International Symposium on Bioinformatics Research and Applications (ISBRA) May 14–16, 2009. The symposium featured more than 30 contributed sessions, 22 research poster presentations, and six keynote talks. Attendees included researchers, developers, practitioners, and graduate students from around the globe working in the bioinformatics field. Many faculty members from the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences were responsible for helping bring the international symposium to the NSU campus.

NSU hosted the fifth annual International Symposium on Bioinformatics Research and Applications (ISBRA) May 14–16, 2009. Many faculty members from the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences were responsible for helping bring the international symposium to the NSU campus. 

The symposium featured more than 30 contributed sessions, 22 research poster presentations, and six keynote talks. Attendees included researchers, developers, practitioners, and graduate students from around the globe working in the bioinformatics field.

The following committee members worked on bringing the international symposium to NSU this year: Matthew He, Ph.D., ISBRA general chair and director of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Math, Science, and Technology; Edward Keith, Ph.D., ISBRA local organizing chair and associate professor in the college’s Division of Math, Science, and Technology; as well as the following members of the ISBRA local organizing committee/faculty members from the college’s Division of Math, Science, and Technology: Ahmed Albatineh, Ph.D., assistant professor; Ricardo Carrera, Ph.D., assistant professor; Evan Haskell, Ph.D., assistant professor; Josh Loomis, Ph.D., assistant professor; Saeed Rajput, Ph.D., assistant division director; Reza Razeghifard, Ph.D., assistant professor; and Raisa Szabo, Ph.D., associate professor.
