Library Series Explores the Life of Lincoln

Read excerpts of essays, speeches, poems, plays, fiction, and nonfiction about Abraham Lincoln during the Lincoln Series offered this summer at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library. The Lincoln in American Memory Reading and Discussion Group will meet throughout June and July. Participants will receive a FREE booklet from the Lincoln in America Memory Project at each meeting, which is open to the public.

The schedule includes:

• Lincoln as Literary Genius: Thursday, June 11, 2 p.m.
• Lincoln: Legacy of the Great Emancipator: Thursday, June 25, 2 p.m.
• Lincoln as the American Redeemer: Thursday, July 2, 2 p.m.
• Lincoln as Self-Made Man: Thursday, July 16, 2 p.m.
• Lincoln and His Critics: Thursday, July 30, 2 p.m.

The Lincoln in American Memory Reading and Discussion Group is part of the Alvin Sherman Library’s array of programs, lectures and exhibits throughout 2009 to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln.
