Law Center Hosts Members of Barcelona Bar Association
Members of the International Section of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB) recently visited NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center. Professor Eloisa C. Rodriguez-Dod, academic director of NSU’s dual degree program with the University of Barcelona, organized the visit and the program held at the Law Center. Also in attendance were students and attorneys who are currently enrolled or have completed the dual degree program between the Law Center and the University of Barcelona. The ICAB’s meeting with the Law Center was part of the group’s visit to South Florida held April 25-May 1 for the Business Bridge, a business law program organized in collaboration with ACC1O/CIDEM COPCA -- the agency formed by the merger of the Center for Innovation and Commercial Development (CIDEM) and the Consortium for Commercial Promotion of Cataluña (COPCA), the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the law firms of Bartolome & Briones, KPMG Abogados, Roca Junyent Abogados, Garrigues and Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira. The purpose of the program was to establish professional contacts and relationships with U.S. law firms and businesses. The program included workshops to further understanding of the U.S. legal system, activities in various legal institutions, such as the Shepard Broad Law Center and the courts of Miami-Dade County, and events organized for the purpose of meeting U.S. and Spanish lawyers and business persons.
