Jim Levy, associate professor of law at the Shepard Broad Law Center, presented a lecture on vintage Japanese kaiju (monster) toys from the 1960s and '70s and their influence on contemporary pop culture. This event was held at the South Florida Art Center on Lincoln Road in Miami in connection with an art show called "Miami Kaiju Monster Invasion" that opened on Dec. 3 during Art Basel, the largest international art fair in North America.

Levy's talk was held during a reception sponsored by the Japanese consulate of Miami. Consul General Hiroshi Yamaguchi delivered opening remarks about the influence of kaiju in Japan and beyond.
