CPS Welcomes Barry Niremberg, Ph.D., ABPP Barry Niremberg, Ph.D., ABPP, joined the Center for Psychological Studies as an associate professor on May 1. Niremberg was previously with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Department of Medicine and Community Health. He also served as professor at Wright State University’s School of Medicine, Newington Children’s Hospital, and Dayton Medical Center. Niremberg holds a Ph.D., from the University of Tennessee and a diplomate from the Board of Professional Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology. Niremberg was director of Behavioral Science and Behavioral Medicine at Jackson Memorial Medical Center where he taught interns in family medicine and residents in behavioral medicine and directed the Behavioral Sciences Clinic. He was part of a research team that assisted in reducing health care disparities to minority patients. Niremberg was past president of the American Psychological Association’s Rehabilitation Psychology Division and consulting editor for the Journal of Pediatric Psychology. Niremberg has numerous publications, including in the Journal of Family Medicine, American Journal of Public Health and Journal of Burn Care Rehabilitation. He is coauthor of Integrative Health Care in Rehabilitation (in press).
