Farquhar College Honors Outstanding Faculty Members
Each spring, the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences recognizes one full-time and one part-time faculty member as “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” for their strong commitment to student learning and student success. The college has many outstanding teachers, and these awards reflect endorsement and support from students and peers. Mark Jaffe, D.P.M., assistant professor in the Division of Math, Science, and Technology, has been selected as the 2008-2009 Outstanding Full-Time Teacher of the Year in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences. Gerard Loisel, M.S.T., associate lecturer in the Division of Math, Science, and Technology, has been selected as the 2008-2009 Outstanding Part-Time Teacher of the Year in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences. As a component of the honor of being selected as Outstanding Full-Time Teacher of Year, Jaffe will represent all faculty members and welcome students to the start of the 2008–2009 academic year during the convocation program, which will be held on Sept. 2. Both recipients will be recognized at the Baccalaureate Reception on Friday, May 9. The following faculty members have also been honored by their peers to serve as 2008 Faculty Marshalls at the upcoming NSU Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10.
