College of Optometry to Hold Clinical Eye Care Conference The College of Optometry's largest continuing education program of the year will be held May 16-18 at the Health Professions Division. The three-day program focuses on advanced care procedures, technologies, and treatments and offers a total of 23 credit hours of continuing education: eight credit hours of transcript quality courses, six credit hours of regular CE courses, and five credit hours of required Florida Board of Optometry courses including Florida Jurisprudence, Medical Errors and Omissions, and HIV/AIDS. In addition, this year's program includes a pre-conference session on Friday morning - the Optometric Practice Enhancement Program (OPEP) - featuring experts in the field of practice management. The pre-conference offers four credit hours of CE in practice management. On Saturday evening, the college will honor the graduates of the Class of 1998 at its Annual Alumni Reception and Dinner at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The conference is underwritten through educational grants provided by the college's partners in education: Alcon and The Vision Care Institute - a Johnson and Johnson Company.
