Fischler School Sponsors Teacher of the Year Program in Tampa

The Fischler School of Education and Human Services is serving as a premier sponsor of the Teacher of the Year in Sarasota County. It is the first time the Fischler School has worked with the Sarasota County Education Foundation to sponsor the Teacher of the Year program.

In March, Tampa Student Educational Center Director Racquel Khuri and Assistant Director Bill Lance were part of the “Prize Patrol” that visited the three finalists in the 2008-09 Teacher of the Year competition. NSU provided the following prizes to the finalists: a computer book bag, a mug filled with school supplies, and a $1,500 scholarship to take a class or towards a program of their choice with the Fischler School of Education and Human Services.

The Tampa SEC staff will attend the Sarasota County Teacher of the Year luncheon as a noted premier sponsor to announce the overall Teacher of the Year winner and award an additional $1,000 scholarship to continue their studies at NSU.
